Start by going to http://www.christiancafe.com and then click on "Free Trial Offer" or "guests". Read through each page and follow any instructions. Click on the link at the bottom of each page to proceed to the next page. The first page in the Logging Process does not require you to fill anything out or answer any questions. It is for your information. Be sure to familiarize yourself with Cafe policies. On the second page you will be asked: 1) Your location: for matching purposes 2) Your email address: this is where we will send your password and login instructions when you complete your profile; your email address will be kept confidential; we do not sell your email address or place you on any outside mailing lists 3) To choose a Username: we will then assign you a UNIQUE username based on the one you provide (eg. if you select the name "happy", our system might assign you "happy222" once you complete your profile) 4) How you found ChristianCafe.com on the internet: If you were referred by a Cafe member, please type his/her username in the white box which asks for ChristianCafe.com Member's USER ID. Note: Your username will be the one you chose when you logged your profile plus 3 extra numbers. Your password is NOT your email address. Your password is not just numbers. It is your username plus 1, 2 or 3 extra numbers. You must type in your password (you cannot cut and paste it). For example, if your username is susan123, your password might be susan123456. Accordingly, this site has been designed to be secure and safe, so no one will know who you are unless you tell them. You have your own private mailbox on the system, so your e-mail address is kept private. We do not sell or use your email address for any purpose other than to contact you about your ChristianCafe.com account. All correspondence with Cafe Staff is kept in the strictest confidence. Please do not choose a username which reveals too much personal information such as your last name. We recommend you choose a username which reflects something you like (eg. hobby, dessert, game, etc) or some part of your personality (eg. happy, bouncy, loving, etc) or something else which doesn't reveal to others who you are. If you do not wish to have your City displayed on your profile you can "Hide" your city from view by going to your Edit Profile section when you are in your Cafe account. The 7th option allows you to "hide" your city from view at the click of a button. Please be very careful about how you meet people from the internet, even if it is through ChristianCafe.com. Take your time getting to know someone over an extended period (a month or more) so that you can determine if it is safe to meet him/her in public and whether this person is someone you'd like to get to know even better. Then, choose a public place and stay in a public place. If s/he is serious about the relationship, s/he will be glad to ensure you feel safe. What kind of precautions would you want your friends to take when meeting someone nice they met on the internet? Logging-in process, etc. New users join through the "Free Trial Offer" icon or "Guests" icon on the Homepage. All new users are given 10 days to try out the site and have access to almost all the services offered, FREE-of-charge. Before you can browse the profiles on ChristianCafe.com for your FREE TRIAL, you need to create your own, unique profile. This requires filling out a questionnaire. The questionnaire is a 3-step process and requires about 15-20 minutes of your time. This will be well worth it for you, however, as once you have logged a profile, you will have immediate access to the system via the "members" link on http://www.christiancafe.com! You will be able to browse profiles and search the database for people you find interesting. A Free Trial Member has the same privileges as a Paying Member for the duration of their free trial. There are three exceptions to this: A) a Free Trial Member cannot send personal email addresses, ICQ numbers or other Chat numbers in messages (including Instant Messages or Quick Messages) to anyone on the Cafe. B) a Free Trial Member cannot access the Chat rooms. C) a Free Trial Member cannot initiate sending Quick Messages to others. All members can reply to a Quick Message which has been sent to them. Quick Messaging is similar to Instant Messaging. Please note that no member (Free Trial or Paying Member) may post their email address, ICQ number or web address anywhere on their profile. A profile consists of two main parts: a Multiple Choice Questionnaire that will tell people a little about you and your interests; and a Short Descriptive Section, where you can write as little or as much as you desire about who you are and the types of people with whom you might be interested in corresponding. A third, optional part permits you to add a photo to your profile. Profiles with photos are browsed UP TO 10 TIMES MORE OFTEN than those without. However, this service is entirely optional. Be active and log-in as often as you can! Use the SEARCH or QUICKMATCH features to locate members who may interest you. Compile a listing of FRIENDS you would like to keep track of and then send, send, and send mail! The more mail you write, the greater the chance you will receive mail from other members. You will find yourself logging in just to see if that Special Someone has read your mail and sent you a reply! You will want to see how many new members have joined the Cafe since you last checked. Note: Paid members have access to the Chat rooms which allow them to join moderated forums on a variety of topics, choose from a number of funny "faces" and send "live" messages to others in the room. Return to Log Your FREE Profile Miscellaneous Why is it important to Delete my Cache? It's important to delete your cache every so often so that your computer doesn't keep giving you old information when you navigate around the internet. Deleting your cache is similar to reloading all the pages the next time you visit them. This does not delete any useful information on your computer's harddrive :) To delete your cache: a) If you are using Microsoft Explorer, go to Tools at the very top of your page, and then click on Internet Options. It will open another window; then click on Delete Files in the middle (under the "General" tab). b) If you are using Netscape: Go to Edit at the very top of your page, and then click on Preferences. It will open another window; click on the plus (+) sign to the left of Advanced on the left column. Then Click on Cache. On the Right Side, click on Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache (You have to clear both Caches). Back To Top How do I Delete my Cookies? A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identification number that is transferred from a Web site to the hard drive of your computer so that the Web site may identify you and track your activities on that particular Web site. A cookie will not let a Web site know any personally identifiable information about you, such as your real name and address. ChristianCafe.com does not collect personally identifiable information about any one person using cookies. Because cookies are only text files, they cannot run on your computer, search your computer for other information, or transmit any information to anyone. ChristianCafe.com generally uses cookies to determine in what State/Province your computer workstation is located. ChristianCafe.com is set up to work best when cookies are used. Certain areas of the Site will not function properly if you set your browser to not accept cookies. However, you can delete your cookies at any time. To delete your Cookies: 1) If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer: Go to Tools at the top of your browser (not part of the Cafe) and then Select Internet Options. A new box will pop up. Under the General Tab, you will see a Settings button in the middle of the box. Click on Settings. Then Select View Files in the sub-box which appears. A new window will pop up which lists all the Cookies stored on your browser. Under Edit you can choose Select All. Then Click on the Delete button on your keyboard. To finish, Click on the X at the top right of the "Cookies" window. Then Click OK in the Settings window. Then Click OK in the Internet Options window. 2) If you are using Netscape: There will be a file on your computer called cookies.txt To find and delete this file, Click on your Start Button (it's located at the bottom left of your screen). Select "Search" and then choose "for Files and Folders". A new box will pop up. Under "Search for files or folders named" type in "cookies.txt" and then Click the Search Now button. Your computer will find one or more files entitled "cookies.txt". Then Click OK in the Internet Options window. 2) If you are using Netscape: Go to Edit at the top of your browser (not part of the Cafe) and then Preferences. A new box will pop up. In the left column, at the bottom you'll see "+ Advanced". Click on the "+" to the left of the word Advanced. Click on "Proxies". On the right side of the box you'll see 3 choices.
